August 6th, 2008 at 04:00:38 Unique talent,I once heard he started out as a musician (trumpet?)One of the funniest comedians ever! Sorely missed. Thanks for this wonderful insight into Marty's last days.
August 6th, 2008 at 04:23:37 Thank-you for your brilliant comment.
August 6th, 2008 at 04:46:36 I found this video touching, informative and entertaining. Thanks for making it MEPublishing.
August 6th, 2008 at 05:09:35 Marty's death is shrouded with romours. I prefer to remember his life, though. He was one of the greats. While America shifted it's comedic tastes to social commentary post WW2, the Brits combined social commentary with with the classic slapstic and refined it like nobody else.
August 6th, 2008 at 05:32:34 I think that Marty could stay childishly creative because he lacked vanity. Vanity is learned from childhood and is totally destructive when it comes to having a sense of humor. MM
August 6th, 2008 at 05:55:33 enigma seems the perfect word. according to gene wilder, he was "the shyest man i've ever met". but he was crazy too. that's why he's great...he had paradox going on.
August 6th, 2008 at 06:18:32 Thank you for posting this! Was he a shy & retiring man or did he have an outgoing personality? I can't quite work it out! I think that Marty Feldman was a bit of an enigma!
August 6th, 2008 at 06:41:31 That's comic timing for you!

August 6th, 2008 at 08:13:27 Yes, on the last day of filming in which he was supposed to die.
August 6th, 2008 at 08:36:26 Didn't Marty Feldman die during the filming of Yellowbeard?
August 6th, 2008 at 08:59:25 Thanks. Marty Feldman was the definition of physical comedy, from the same mould as Charlie Chapman and Buster Keaton.
August 6th, 2008 at 09:22:24 hats off to marty!

August 6th, 2008 at 13:12:14 oh i agree! it's totally time for pretty much all of marty's lesser known stuff to get released. it's pretty much time for him to be talked about more and all that too. he was great, yet terribly underrated. ~angela
